Convene. Convey. Contribute
We are at a critical point in the evolution of artificial intelligence. The dominant narratives surrounding AI are often shaped by technological determinism and commercial interest. What we urgently need are alternative, human-centered perspectives — ones that include care, creativity, and ethical imagination. In order to contribute to these collective requirements, we mobilize knowledge and networks for Just AI Futures.
TRAIN — an international group of critical thinkers, researchers and scholars — brings together diverse voices—from scientists, technologists, artists, policymakers and activists — to interrogate, shape, and reimagine the futures of artificial intelligence. TRAIN is a dynamic, transdisciplinary knowledge circle where critical thinking, critical dialogue and critical reflections allows for a future-oriented AI, directly or indirectly contributing to social transformation.
Our purpose is not only to understand emerging AI systems, but our objective is to challenge their assumptions and translate community needs into AI design principles, and, in order to achieve this, develop policy briefings, white papers, research publications and propose new (and creative) ideas that can possibly guide AI and AI developers toward transformative social change. We aim to inform and translate AI through collective inquiry, critique through accountable dialogue, and contribute by sharing and developing knowledge and tools that serve just, equitable, and sustainable futures.
